WonderCon: Zack Snyder Talks "Watchmen"

Now that Zack Snyder is done with "300," and looks to have done a fine job with it, he’s ready to move on to his next project, "Watchmen." Originally a twelve-issue graphic novel by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons, "Watchman" will be an R-rated super hero movie, if Snyder has his way. Here’s what he had to say about his next movie during my interview with him for "300."

"We have the script and we’re trying to get the schedule [and budget] together. I think the studio understands this movie is rated R," said Snyder. As for the cast, Snyder confirmed he has spoken at length with Tom Cruise about a part in the movie, but said Cruise’s involvement is no longer likely. Snyder said his discussions with Cruise were mostly "theoretical," but Snyder pictured him playing the part of Ozymandias. Snyder said he plans to start shooting "Watchmen" at the end of the summer.
