Scorsese Keeping Busy with "Hugo Cabret"

Looks like the beloved Martin Scorsese is back in high-demand these days. According to Variety, the filmmaker is in talks to bring recent kid’s novel "The Invention of Hugo Cabret" to the big screen … but what about that "Departed" sequel?

If Mr. Scorsese makes "Hugo" his next project, it will reunite him with his "Aviator" screenwriter, John Logan, who’s already been on adaptation duty for a while … despite the fact that the book just came out last month.

The story focuses on a small boy who lives inside a Paris train station in the 1930s. Apparently a robot is involved somehow. But if it’s a brand-new book and it caught the eye of Scorsese … it must be a pretty good book.

Regarding "The Departed 2," it seems that writer William Monahan is still on the case, but who knows how long that project will take to get rolling…
