Writer/director Jonathan Hensleigh ("The Punisher") has been enlisted by New Line to bring "Darksiders" to life, says The Hollywood Reporter. The movie, "which revolves around a band of vampires that become special operatives for the FBI," has had a few filmmakers attached in the past, most notably David Goyer ("Blade: Trinity") and David Nutter (TV’s "Dark Angel" and "Smallville").

But now the project belongs to Mr. Hensleigh, who co-wrote "Armageddon" and "Jumanji" before making his directorial debut with "The Punisher." The "Darksiders" screenplay comes from Tom Parker and Jim Jennewein, the screenwriting duo who brought us "The Flintstones," "Getting Even with Dad," and "Richie Rich."
