"Superman Returns" Sequel Back on Track?

by | March 21, 2007 | Comments

Recent reports were worrying that the "Superman Returns" sequel was being bumped back to an undetermined start date, but one of the involved parties has stepped up to say "Um, nope. Not at all."

It was Robert Meyer Burnett (who was a videographer behind the scenes on "Superman Returns" and played the character of ‘Cape Canaveral Reporter’ in the film) who told the following to a Superman fan site: "I’m ALREADY working on the sequel. Bryan, Brandon and the whole merry bunch will be coming back…and filming will probably begin March, 2008, as was always planned from the beginning. The WWII film Bryan plans to shoot over the summer will have NO EFFECT whatsoever on the Superman sequel schedule."

We’ll see if this news gets confirmed by Bryan Singer, Jon Peters, or anyone else at WB, but it only makes sense. The fans are already clamoring for an action-intensive follow-up, so why not strike while the iron’s still hot?
