The Broadway hit "Dreamgirls" is presently being adapted for the big screen by filmmaker Bill Condon ("Chicago," "Kinsey"), and DreamWorks is reportedly courting Ms. Beyonce Knowles ("The Pink Panther," "Austin Powers: Goldmember") to take on a featured role. According to Variety, Condon’s adaptation "retains Tom Eyen’s book and lyrics as well as Henry Krieger’s music," so you "Dreamgirls" fans can breathe a sigh of relief. The filmmaker and the studio aim to get started shooting "Dreamgirls" in the fall.
