Legions of hardcore Twilight fans around the world currently have one shared obsession: we want to know exactly what’s going on with the next movie, New Moon! Well, fellow Twilighters, I’m delighted to share the news that Rotten Tomatoes is heading north this week… to the Vancouver set of The Twilight Saga: New Moon, to observe filming and interview cast members! While we won’t be at liberty to divulge too much of our visit this week, chime in and tell us what you want to know most from the set of New Moon and we’ll do our best to oblige.

If you’ve kept up with the Internet in recent months, you might already know that New Moon director Christopher Weitz has already filmed key scenes in the greater Vancouver area. (Twilight: New Moon officially hits theaters this November 20, 2009 — mark your calendars!) While plenty of fans have “set-stalked” and posted photos from beyond the security lines, Rotten Tomatoes has an exclusive invite to — yes, indeed — actually step foot on the set of New Moon and talk to the cast!

Since we love our fellow Twilighters so much, we’d like to share the experience with our readers as much as we’re allowed to. Weigh in below and tell us what you’re looking forward to seeing most from New Moon: which scenes from Stephenie Meyer’s novel you want to see on-screen, which new cast members you’re most curious about, if you’re hot or cold on Taylor Lautner‘s cropped Jacob ‘do…

As for yours truly, in addition to being extremely hyped to observe filming and talk to the cast, I’m looking forward to speaking with director Chris Weitz, whose previous films (The Golden Compass, About a Boy, American Pie) seem to have prepared him to handle key elements of New Moon — teenage romance, believable visual effects, and the ability to keep a complicated production under control. My fingers are crossed that I’ll see at least a few new faces in character — either the Quileute Wolf pack (Alex Meraz, Kiowa Gordon, Bronson Pelletier, Chaske Spencer) or the Italian Volturi (Michael Sheen, Dakota Fanning, Jamie Campbell Bower), all of whom have been reported in town in recent weeks. (Meet the new faces of New Moon here!)

And of course, I’d represent all of RT when I say my fingers are crossed that screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg kept Stephenie Meyer’s Rotten Tomatoes mention in the script — because when it comes to buying a ticket to the romance Tomorrow and Forever, “Rotten Tomatoes gave it a better review!”

All that said, as I embark on my journey — it’s not exactly mecca for Twi-hards (that would be a trip to Forks) — follow my Twilight obsession at twitter.com/jenyamato, and on our official Rotten Tomatoes Twitter account, twitter.com/rottentomatoes and tell me what you want to know most about The Twilight Saga: New Moon!

Live long and sparkle,

Jen
