New Director Lined Up for "Shrek 4"

It’s not all that uncommon for new directors to step in on well-established series, but the "new guy" isn’t usually someone known for live-action features…

Seems that Mike Mitchell, who directed the not-so-good "Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo" and the surprisingly quite good "Sky High," has been tapped by DreamWorks to helm the fourth flick in the "Shrek" series. (You didn’t really think they were going to stop at three, did you?)

Mr. Mitchell has directed some animated shorts and some "SpongeBob" episodes, so he does have experience in the realm of animation. Former Farrelly Brothers collaborator Josh Klausner is working on the "Shrek 4" script.

Meanwhile "Shrek the Third" opens next week.
