A paid week in Hawaii? With a craft service table? Dude, Matthew McConaughey is so there.
The actor has stepped into the void created when Owen Wilson departed Tropic Thunder, the Ben Stiller comedy that is, according to Variety, about “a group of actors who gather on a remote island to shoot a big-budget war movie and are forced to become the soldiers they are playing.”
The role, Variety notes, “amounts to an uncredited cameo,” but we doubt McConaughey needs much of an incentive to take any kind of paying gig in Hawaii, particularly one whose cast includes Stiller, Robert Downey Jr., and Jack Black.
Tropic Thunder is scheduled for a 2008 release.
