Future Looks Bright for "Futurama"

The hilariously talented voice actor Billy West keeps in close contact with his fans via message board, and he recently divulged one HECK of a cool piece of news. Seems that the whole cast & crew are being united to create not two, not three, but FOUR all-new direct-to-video "Futurama" movies, which (if you’ve ever seen the show) you just know is fantastic news.

The precise postings of Mr. West are as follows:

"HERE’S GREAT NEWS!
Here’s the official word on Futurama!! David X. phoned me about an hour ago and said that this Futurama project is a done deal! Here’s the word from DX— There are 4 DVD movies that we’ll start recording at the end of July or August. Full feature length FUTURAMA movies. Everybody is excited to get back together–as I am!

Into the Future,
Billy"

"David X" is, of course, David X. Cohen, longtime producer and frequent commentator on the "Futurama" DVDs, which (in my opinion) are worth their weight in Slurm.

Plus this bodes well for direct-to-video movies in general. Why? Because with the original "Futurama" cast & crew on board, you’re all but guaranteed a superior product. Frankly this is the best movie news I’ve heard all year.
