They’ll star as mortal enemies in next summer’s The Incredible Hulk, but offscreen, Edward Norton and Tim Blake Nelson are actually friends — friends who will next collaborate on the comedic thriller Leaves of Grass.
Variety reports that Nelson, who wrote Leaves of Grass with Norton in mind, will direct and co-star in the film, which is set to begin production in the spring. Norton, who is also producing, will play twins, described in the article as “an Ivy League classics professor and a pot-smoking career criminal.” From the article:
“The challenge of playing twins for an actor is very special, and I was very flattered that Tim sent ‘Leaves of Grass’ to me,” Norton said. “I liked it so much, and felt so strongly that it was a film Tim understood to his core, that I took it to my partners and suggested we produce it. This is exactly the kind of personal filmmaking that we set out to support.”
Lucky for Nelson, who is quoted in the article as saying that Norton was his “first choice for either of these roles,” and if he’d said no, “there would have been no second choice.”
