10 Fresh Jessica Walter Movies and Series

Jessica Walter kicked off her acting career during her early twenties in the 1960s with a Broadway debut of a Peter Ustinov play, followed by a flurry of television guest-stints and movie ensemble parts, like in John Frankenheimer’s Grand Prix and Sidney Lumet’s The Group. In 1972, Walter was Golden Globe-nominated for her turn as an obsessed fan stalking Clint Eastwood’s radio jockey in Play Misty For Me. For decades, Walter could reliably be seen in supporting film roles like within Slums of Beverly Hills or The Flamingo Kid, and she voiced Fran the mother in ABC’s Dinosaurs for four dinosaurs.

Walter’s career got a remarkable second wind through Arrested Development, the deeply influential single-camera meta-comedy where she portrayed Lucille, the icy and conniving matriarch of the disgraced Bluth family. For the role, she was nominated for an Emmy in 2015, and she and her co-stars were frequently recognized for their ensemble performances by the Screen Actors Guild Awards with multiple nominations. Subsequently, she was brought into the Archer fold, voicing Malory Archer, mother of the titular super-spy. We now pay tribute to her career and accomplishments with 10 Fresh movies and series featuring Jessica Walter. Alex Vo
