Marvel has hired David Goyer to bring their "Magneto" spinoff to life, but they are still putting their eggs in Wolverine’s basket for the first "X-Men" solo film. Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige gave us the update while hanging out on the "Iron Man" set.
"I think Wolverine will be released first," said Feige. "We’ve not signed the director. Fox has not signed a director yet. There are a lot of people in the mix. It’s hard. I think it’s very close. I thought that for four or five weeks now."
Whenever "Magneto" gets to come out, Feige feels it’s perfectly suited for Goyer’s traditionally dark takes on comic books. "Well, if anyone knows Magneto’s history or remembers the first scene in X-Men 1, it’s not the lightest story. So Magento certainly will have elements that I think are well suited for Goyer’s tastes."
