Sci-Fi Wire had a brief sit-down with popular director Wolfgang Petersen ("Poseidon," "The Perfect Storm"), and the filmmaker says he wants his next project to be the LONG-awaited big-screen rendition of Orson Scott Card’s "Ender’s Game." Oh, and the director also chats a little bit about something called "Batman vs. Superman," if that holds any interest for you.

From Sci-Fi Wire: ""We’re getting the (Ender’s Game) script in a few weeks, and if everything goes fine and that script goes in the right direction, it could indeed be my next one … I think Ender’s was a little bit of an inspiration for Harry Potter," he said. "It could also be a great 3-D version of Ender’s, with all that fighting in the battle stations."

Regarding the rather unlikely-to-happen "Batman vs. Superman," the filmmaker had this to say: "I love the concept very much," he said. "It might happen, but it might also happen when I’m 85. Who knows, because they first have to get their Superman [Returns, which opens June 30,] going."
