TAGGED AS:

Two months into 2025, and the closest we’ve gotten to a runaway hit so far is Captain America: Brave New World, but even that movie has underperformed by Marvel’s standards. Will any of the March offerings be able to outdo Sam Wilson and the Red Hulk?

We asked you to vote for your Most Anticipated Movie of March, and the results were overwhelmingly in favor of Bong Joon Ho’s latest film, with a new Disney remake, a sequel to a children’s film

No. 1

Release Date: March 7, 2025

Leading the pack by a wide margin with 40% of the votes, we have Parasite director Bong Joon Ho’s latest, a science-fiction story in the form of a dark comedy. The film stars Robert Pattinson as an “expendable” colonist on a new planet whose frequently dangerous tasks lead to his death several times. Every time he dies, he is cloned with his body and memories intact, and his mission starts over, battling Kenneth Marshall (Mark Ruffalo) and Ylfa (Toni Collette) along the way.

No. 2

Release Date: March 21, 2025

Next up, with 8% of the vote, we have Disney’s first ever princess getting a live-action movie, but it isn’t what you think. Snow White (2025) will play off all the qualities of the 1937 animated film with one major change – the storyline. Rachel Zegler’s Snow White is no damsel in distress in need of rescuing. Instead, she envisions herself a fearless leader. With a screenplay written by Barbie’s Greta Gerwig and Gal Gadot starring as the Evil Queen, Snow White differs from Disney’s previous remakes that stuck to their original storylines.

No. 3

Release Date: March 28, 2025

In a somewhat surprising result, our third spot this month belongs to Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Road Trip, a standalone sequel to the 2014 children’s book adaptation Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day, which starred Steve Carell and Jennifer Garner. This time the story focuses on a multigenerational Latino family, with Eva Longoria leading the comedy about 11-year-old Alexander Garcia and his family whose trip to Mexico City takes a turn for the worst after they face off with a cursed idol.

No. 4

Release Date: March 21, 2025

In fourth, we have two Robert De Niros taking to the screen in this true story-based gangster drama. De Niro reunites with Goodfellas and Casino screenwriter Nicholas Pileggi under the guiding hand of four-time collaborator Barry Levinson (Wag the Dog, Sleeper). The story centers on Frank Costello and Vito Genovese (both played by De Niro), two of New York’s biggest organized crime lords, whose amicable friendship morphs into a bitter rivalry, transforming the Mafia scene in America.

No. 5

Release Date: March 28, 2025

Finally, we have a twisted horror comedy from A24 and writer-director Alex Scharfman, who makes his feature directorial debut. The story centers on a father-daughter duo (Paul Rudd and Jenna Ortega) who hit a unicorn on their way to a company retreat and find themselves in the middle of a power struggle to control the mystical creature’s magical curative powers… even if it means incurring the wrath of its mate.
