"Pink Panther" is Coming Back With a New Director

You knew it was coming: Steve Martin in a "Pink Panther" sequel.

Although we expected Shawn Levy to return as director, it looks like he’ll stay on as a producer and hein the helm over to Harald Zwart, also known as the director of "Agent Cody Banks" and "One Night at McCools."

Steve Martin will be returning to play Inspector Clouseau. The sequel’s screenplay comes from Scott Neustadter and Michael Weber, with a rewrite by comedy veterans Lowell Ganz and Babaloo Mandel.

Sony is aiming to get "The Pink Panther 2" (or whatever they’ll be calling it) into production by late August.
