Just a day after dropping their proposed "Watchmen" adaptation, Paramount Pictures announced that "Mission: Impossible 3" will go into production on July 18th. J.J. Abrams (TV’s "Alias") will make his big-screen directorial debut on the highly anticipated sequel.
Joining leading man Tom Cruise ("Magnolia") will be Ving Rhames ("Pulp Fiction"), Jonathan Rhys-Meyers ("Vanity Fair"), Philip Seymour Hoffman ("Love Liza"), and Michelle Monaghan ("Unfaithful"). The "MI:3" screenplay was written by Alex Kurtzman & Roberto Orci, and the pair also have "The Legend of Zorro" on the horizon.
