Pssst — Iron Man fans. You don’t have plans for April 30, do you?
According to ComingSoon‘s Edward Douglas, that’s the day that Jon Favreau‘s live-action adaptation of the long-running Marvel title — starring Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Terrence Howard, and Jeff Bridges — will be reaching theaters around the world. The news comes straight from the mouth of Paramount Pictures International’s president, Andrew Cripps, who made his remarks at ShoWest’s International Day.
As Douglas points out, the move wouldn’t be without precedent; in fact, Paramount employed a similar creep-it-up strategy with Transformers last year. It’d certainly help raise anticipation for Iron Man — as would bundling screenings with a new trailer for another high-profile Paramount release, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, which Cripps hinted could be a possibility. All in favor of just going ahead and naming May 2008 Paramount Month, say “aye.”
