Happy Friday Harvest, a weekly round-up of the

Picture Gallery of the Week:
Sherlock Holmes

With most of the Oscar hopefuls being smacked down by bad buzz and
Tomatometers (seems only Precious and Up in the Air are making it), we’re
instead now looking down the barrell of the biggest blockbuster December
since the Lord of the Rings trilogy ended. Avatar is dominating our
attention, but let’s not forget about Sherlock Holmes, which will likely
prove to be less polarizing. Browse the gallery.

Poster of the Week:

Tron Legacy

We may have gotten that sweet Whiplash Iron Man 2 teaser poster (see
below), but let’s shed further light on another 2010 favorite: Tron Legacy.
Director Joseph Kosinski hasn’t had much in way of feature work (read:
none), but his commercial work, which includes the legendary
“Mad World” Gears
of War
TV ad
, shows incredible talent for combining CG with real world
elements. Of course, many a sordid story has been told of commercial/music
video directors coming to Hollywood to shake things up and failing. If it
happens again, hey, at least we get to see Daft Punk and lightcycles, right?

Videos of the Week:

Avatar clips

No doubt by now you’ve seen that Avatar‘s got a Tomatometer. Raves have
categorized the early reviews, with occasional dissident voices. As the
movie’s December 18th release date approaches, you can tide yourself over
with six new clips.
