Fincher Looks to the "Zodiac"

Variety brings news of filmmaker David Fincher ("Fight Club," "Se7en") and his next movie project. The well-admired director will helm "Zodiac," which is a Paramount / WB co-production based on the non-fiction novels by Robert Graysmith. The movie is based on an actual killer who "terrorized the San Francisco area from 1966-78, committing at least 37 murders and documenting his exploits in taunting letters sent to the (San Francisco) Chronicle."Screenwriter James Vanderbilt ("Darkness Falls," "The Rundown") will be adapting Graysmith’s novels "Zodiac" and "Zodiac Unmasked." Actors Robert Downey Jr., Mark Ruffalo and Jake Gyllenhaal are already on board to star.
