Good news, Batfans! Warner Bros. is planning to show the teaser trailer for the much-anticipated The Dark Knight in front of The Simpsons Movie when it hits theaters on July 27.
July 27 just happens to be the same day as the Warner Bros. panel at San Diego Comic-Con, but ComingSoon is suggesting that the teaser might be screened even earlier in the day than the panel.
In other Batnews, Aaron Eckhart talked with Dark Horizons about his role in The Dark Knight. Eckhart plays Harvey Dent, the district attorney-turned-villain Two-Face. Eckhart revealed that Two-Face will be making an appearance in The Dark Night (it was rumored that Harvey Dent might appear, but that Two-Face was being saved for future installments). He said the role typifies the polarities of the Batman universe.
“I like the character,” he said. “I like playing this guy. This guy has likable attributes, characteristics. And it really, as in this whole Batman going through it, it’s really a mirror of our times in a lot of ways. It’s a comment on what’s going on in the world today. And my character fits into that really nicely.”
The Dark Knight, slated for release in July 2008, stars Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman, Maggie Gyllenhaal, and Heath Ledger; it will be helmed by Christopher Nolan, who also directed 2005’s Batman Begins.
