The BIFA nominations for 2016 were announced this morning by actors Ophelia Lovibond and Douglas Booth at The London Edition. Read through for the full list of nominations.
I, Daniel Blake, written by Paul Laverty and directed by Ken Loach, leads the race with seven noms for Best British Independent Film, Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Actress and Best Actor, and two nominations for Most Promising Newcomer. The other nominees for Best British Independent Film are American Honey (six nominations), Couple in a Hole (two nominations), Notes on Blindness (six nominations) and Under The Shadow (six nominations). This year, over 130 British films were submitted for consideration and 32 different British feature films have been nominated across the awards.
