British Independent 2016 Winners Announced: American Honey Tops, Moonlight is Best International Film
Horror Under the Shadow takes three awards.
The British Independent Film Awards were celebrated today at Old Billingsgate in London. This year, over 130 British films were submitted for consideration and 32 different British feature films have been nominated across the awards.
American Honey was the big winner of the evening with four awards for Best Film, Best Director (Andrea Arnold), Best Actress (Sasha Lane) and Outstanding Achievement in Craft. The Farsi-language horror Under the Shadow took home the awards for Best Screenplay, Best Debut Director and Best Supporting Actress, won by nine-year-old Avin Manshadi.
