The summer months were arguably just as big for TV as they were for movies, and moving into the Fall TV season, there aren’t as many high-profile titles as we’re accustomed to seeing. That said, there were at least four titles that stood above the rest… and one that barely managed to pull into the final spot of the 5 Most Anticipated TV and Streaming Shows of September.

No. 1

Premiere Date: September 18, 2024 on Disney+

Whether or not superhero fatigue — or, more specifically, Marvel fatigue — is a real thing, the latest from the House of Mouse blew all the competition out of the water to secure 30% of all votes and nab the top spot this month. Kathryn Hahn reprises her WandaVision role as Agatha Harkness in the miniseries Agatha All Along, which sees the witch escape from Westview and form a new coven. The first two episodes premiere on September 18, and they’ll be followed by new episodes every Wednesday.

No. 2

Premiere Date: September 4, 2024 on Apple TV+

Slow Horses has been something of a critically acclaimed sleeper hit for Apple TV+ since it first aired in 2022, so it makes sense that it would bubble up high on this list. Led by the always reliable Gary Oldman and based on a series of spy novels, the show focuses on a splinter branch of MI5 reserved for agents regarded as failures who nevertheless find themselves wrapped up in major espionage plots. The six-episode season will premiere with two episodes on September 4 and air new episodes weekly.

No. 3

Premiere Date: September 15, 2024 on Paramount+

Sylvester Stallone can still attract an audience at the ripe old age of 78, as he leads this Paramount+ series as a Mafia lieutenant who sets up a criminal outfit in Tulsa, OK. Of course, it doesn’t hurt that the show was created by Taylor Sheridan, the man behind titles like Wind RiverYellowstone, and Mayor of Kingstown. Here’s hoping the second season can live up to the first’s Certified Fresh status.

No. 4

Premiere Date: September 22, 2024 on MGM+

If you’re looking for something with even more niche appeal, From may be right up your alley. This sci-fi horror series on MGM+ has quietly racked up two very Fresh and Hot seasons so far, chronicling the lives of the residents in a mysterious town that traps all who enter. Oh, and of course, there are the nightmarish creatures that come out at night to terrorize everyone.

No. 5

Premiere Date: September 29, 2024 on AMC and AMC+

The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon premiered to a fairly positive reception, and although fans hoped to see Melissa McBride’s Carol join Norman Reedus’ titular character, she didn’t appear until the season finale. The second season — subtitled The Book of Carol — looks to give fans what they’ve been waiting for, and enough of those fans showed up to vote the show into our top five this month.
