Actors Sophia Bush and Common announced the nominations for the 23rd annual Screen Actors Guild Awards this morning at the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood. The announcement was broadcast live on TNT, TBS and truTV. The cast of Manchester by the Sea leads in the movie categories with four nominations, including Male Actor in a Leading Role to Casey Affleck, and Outstanding Cast. Both Moonlight and Fences received three nods each. In the TV front, the miniseries The People v. O.J. Simpson received three nominations for the performances of Sterling K. Brown, Courtney B. Vance and Sarah Paulson. A number of shows got two nominations in the Comedy categories, including Black-ish, Veep, Orange is the New Black and Modern Family. In the TV Drama categories, HBO’s Westworld and Game of Thrones, and Netflix’s Stranger Things and The Crown received three nominations each. Read through for the full list.
The SAG Awards winners will be revealed on Jan. 29, 2017 in a ceremony simulcast live on TNT and TBS at 8pm ET/5pm PT. Last year, Leonardo DiCaprio and Brie Larson took home top awards for feature film roles, while Idris Elba came away with two trophies, one for film and one for television.
