Robert Rodriguez Directing the "Jetsons" Movie?

I’ve always wondered how "The Flintstones" was profitable enough to spawn a sequel, yet nobody ever got off their butt to make a movie out of "The Jetsons." Well, it looks like someone finally is.

And according to one source, it looks like fanboy-favorite filmmaker Robert Rodriguez is on board to direct "The Jetsons" for Warner Bros. That’s all the information we have so far, and it’s far from being "officially" confirmed, but that would make for one strange movie, wouldn’t it?

I grew up on "The Jetsons" and of course I adore the guy who gave me "Sin City," "From Dusk Till Dawn," and "Grindhouse," but it still seems like a really strange match. Then again … "Spy Kids," right.

And if they don’t get William H. Macy to play George Jetson, I’ll blow my top.
