New Animation Company to Deliver "Samurai Jack," "Neverhood"

If you’re a fan of Cartoon Network’s "Samurai Jack" or DreamWorks’ "Neverhood" video game, then you’ll be happy to know that 2-D animated movie versions are on the way.

A new company called Frederator Films will focus on animated fare that’s not necessarily for the small kiddies. The first three project out of the gate for Frederator will be:

— "Samurai Jack," with series creator Genndy Tartakovsky on board to write and direct.

— "The Neverhood," based on a video game I’ve never played. Game creator Doug TenNapel has been hired to bring the adaptation home.

— "The Seven Deadly Sins," a "hip-hop" project that’s already got Don King on board as a voice-cast member.

All of the FF projects will be 2-D animated, and probably all sorts of "hip."
