Whatever is going on at the theatrical box office this summer, TV has stepped up to the challenge, and with the quality of titles coming to TV and streaming this month, we honestly wouldn’t blame you for staying home. Some of the biggest and most anticipated shows of the entire year debut in June, and we asked you to vote for the one you’re most looking forward to. Read on for the most anticipated TV and streaming shows of June!

No. 1

Premiere Date: June 27, 2024 on Hulu

At a time when TV series frequently take years to complete new seasons, isn’t it refreshing that one of the most highly acclaimed fan-favorite shows has succeeded in releasing its first three seasons almost exactly one year after another? That’s what the multiple Emmy-winning FX/Hulu series The Bear has accomplished, as the complete third season will drop in its entirety on June 27, one year after season 2 dropped on June 22, 2023 and two years after the series debuted on June 23, 2022.

No. 2

Premiere Date: June 13, 2024 on Prime Video

Not too far behind The Bear is season 4 of The Boys, Prime Video’s adaptation of the irreverent comic book that approaches superhero storytelling from a very adult angle. Karl Urban returns as Billy Butcher, who must reconcile his differences with the rest of his team in order to save the world from a newly emboldened Homelander. The first three episodes of the season will hit Prime Video on June 13, with new episodes to follow weekly.

No. 3

Premiere Date: June 16, 2024 on HBO

A bit further behind in the third slot is the second season of the Game of Thrones prequel series House of the Dragon. The story escalated rather quickly towards the end of the first season, which culminated in the deaths of more than one significant character, and season 2 promises even more political plotting and lots of dragon action — minus the jarring time jumps — so it’s not surprising to see it near the top of this month’s titles.

No. 4

Premiere Date: June 4, 2024 on Disney+

Star Wars will always draw an audience, and The Acolyte is no different. Even though this story focuses on new characters in an era wholly removed from anyone named Skywalker, there’s still a fair amount of anticipation for it. Amandla Stenberg stars in a dual role alongside Squid Game’s Lee Jung-jae in a story about a former Jedi master investigating a series of mysterious murders during the end of the High Republic era, approximately 100 years before the lifetime of Anakin Skywalker.

No. 5

Premiere Date: June 16, 2024 on MGM+

Finally, in the fifth spot we have a brand new original series, coming from the mind of Chris Brancato, creator of Narcos and Godfather of Harlem. The series is a fictionalized portrait of the Mutiny Hotel, which served as “the glamorous epicenter of the Miami cocaine scene of the late ‘70s and early ‘80s.” Mayans M.C. star Danny Pino leads the cast as Roman Compte, the hotel’s real-life manager, with a supporting cast that includes Michael Chiklis, Mark Feuerstein, and Yul Vazquez, among others.
