Lions Gate has tapped screenwriters Ronald Shusett and George Lee Marshall to adapt James Halperin’s sci-fi novel "The Truth Machine" for the big screen, according to Variety.
Mr. Halperin’s novel "examines what the world would be like after the construction of a perfect lie detector, with the character who invented the machine committing a crime and then submitting to his own creation."
Mr. Shusett is best known for his screenplay for the original "Alien," although he’s also contributed to movies like "Freejack," "Dead and Buried," and "Total Recall."
