So if it wasn’t clear from last week’s fan reaction recap, Legion gives viewers a lot to chew on, and not all of it goes down easy. Did this week’s episode make things at clearer for our addled brains? Not exactly. But the super-heroic FX series has quickly developed an ensemble of characters worth rooting for, captivating imagery and set design, and one truly creepy villain by way of the devil with yellow eyes.
Check out this week’s fan reaction highlights below.

We open this week on David (Dan Stevens) at Summerland struggling to get the voices in his head under control. Luckily Melanie (Jean Smart) is on-hand for help, telling him to turn the voices down. It provided for a pretty cool moment — not just because David may have a shot at controlling his mind, but the image of him turning down a larger-than-life sound dial puts schizophrenia in an interesting perspective.
This is a cool way to show a telepath starting to create mental shields #LegionFX

This show is really capturing the confusion of David's mind, and love the literal imagery of what that woman described. @LegionFX #LegionFX

Awwww Li'l David is almost sane. #LegionFX pic.twitter.com/biTI9fi5OD

Viewers are falling head over heels for Legion’s ladies, namely Smart and Aubrey Plaza, who plays Lenny.
Jean Smart is a gift to us all and don't you ever forget that. #LegionFX

Jean Smart just crushes it in everything she's in #LegionFX

But that doesn’t mean they weren’t still a little confused.

I'm enjoying @LegionFX but I'm going to need something to make sense at some point. #LegionFX

This show is really making me feel stupid.
Absolutely NO IDEA what's going on. #LegionFX

Confusion especially set in when Ptonomy (Jeremie Harris) enters David’s mind to revisit memories from his past, A Christmas Carol style. Would you take on his powers?
A memory artist? That sort of power seems like it could be used to do terrible things so easily #LegionFX
— TheNerdyGirlExpress (@thenerdygirlexp) February 16, 2017
Literally walking through your mind, your memory. Really brings a whole new perspective on reality. #LegionFX
— Jay Hart (@JaySpyneHart) February 16, 2017
Some viewers found his particular powers to revisit David’s innermost memories to be invasive, even comparing it to Scientology’s infamous auditing technique.
Are they auditing on #LegionFX?#Dianetics
— Draper Harlow (@Drapervich) February 16, 2017
That looks like a free Scientology stress test #LegionFX

I'm waiting for Leah Remini to pop out as David grabs "the cans" #XenuAMutant?@nerdist #LegionFX @LegionFX

One of the first memories Ptonomy, Melanie, and David visit is when David’s astronomer father (who’s identity is still unclear) is reading him a nightmarish bedtime story that seems to have roots in his powers’ development.
If I got tucked in at night to a story like that, I'd be fucked up too. Lol. #NerdNation #LegionFx pic.twitter.com/p4BGdswIJa

While he’s getting to know the intricacies of his own mind, David finds himself this episode wanting to get to know Syd’s (Rachel Keller) better, too. Since they can’t physically touch (we saw what happened last week with that one!), David will settle for a “romance of the mind.”
We're having a romance of the mind ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ #LegionFX @LegionFX

David and Sydney have the weirdest relationship on TV ever #LegionFX

In another memory, David recalls getting stoned with Lenny. Anyone else Google that frog-faced vaporizer yet?

— Dan Stevens (@thatdanstevens) February 16, 2017
It's not even funny how badly I want that frog. ?#LegionFX @thatdanstevens

Honestly can that yellow-eyed devil blob just go away already!? He popped up throughout tonight’s episode, but came especially close to doing David some damage while he was in the MRI for Cary (Bill Irwin). If you watched tonight, it’s pretty much guaranteed you’ll be having some nightmares.

And then to top it all off, the agency that was holding David hostage last week has now scooped up his sister Amy to use as bait.
