IGN Peeps the "Eragon" Trailer

Reporting from the E3 game-fest, the IGN FilmForce guys bring word that the trailer for Fox 2000’s "Eragon" is … pretty impressive.

From IGNFF: "From this early look at the fantasy pic, it appears to be every bit as epic as the book. Adapted from the best-selling novel of the same name, Eragon tells the story of the titular young dragon rider and the sapphire dragon Saphira. The trailer contained only the briefest of glimpses of Saphira, right at the end—obviously Fox is saving surprises for further along in the process.

What the trailer really showcases is the sprawling environments, which are sure to make viewers recall that other fantasy epic Lord of the Rings. The outdoor sequences feature enormous, expansive backdrops reminiscent of the New Zealand countryside found in that trilogy."

Based on the best-selling fantasy novel by Christopher Paolini, "Eragon" stars John Malkovich, Jeremy Irons, Djimon Hounsou, Robert Carlyle, Sienna Guillory, and newcomer Edward Speleers in the title role. Fox has the movie penciled in for a December 15th release date.
