Disney+’s second MCU series, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, has big shoes to fill in the wake of the phenomenon that was WandaVision – and so too do its central characters. In a world without Captain America, Bucky (Sebastian Stan) and Sam (Anthony Mackie) are dealing with finding their place in a new world, “letting go of the past,” and discovering whether they’re truly friends – or if it was Cap who held their bond together. With the series premiering on Disney+ this month, rolling out weekly on Fridays, Rotten Tomatoes Editor Jacqueline Coley spoke to co-stars Mackie and Stan, plus series director Kari Skogland and writer Malcolm Spellman, to break down what fans can expect from the TV series that Kevin Feige mandated “should not feel like TV.” In a series of extended interviews, the cast and creatives reveal the series will be full of twists and turns and epic cinematic action; why Zemo was a perfect addition to the story; who really is “America’s ass” now that Cap’s out of the picture; and how movies like Bad Boys and Lethal Weapon inspired The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier premieres on Disney+ on March 19, 2021.
