We know that "Toy Story 3" is underway (with a new director and a script by "Little Miss Sunshine" scribe Michael Arndt), but is star Tim Allen on board?
It’s surprising that anyone would think "Toy Story 3" is a big secret. During the Disney/Pixar talks, one of the major chips was "Toy Story" sequels, with Disney withholding the rights, Pixar or no. Now that the studios have made up, Pixar all but confirmed they were taking control of the further adventures of Buzz and Woody. So why is actor Tim Allen under a gag order?
"Disney would like us not to talk, for some reason, even though it was in the Wall Street Journal, they’d like us not to talk about ‘T3,’" he said.
Being a comedian, Allen would not let studio politics stop him from cracking us up, so he just did the old mumble/cough trick to confirm that he was at work laying down voice tracks. "I don’t know what it was. It just was ‘Stop talking about it’ but it’s [mumbles/coughs]."
You had to be there.
"Toy Story 3" is set as a 2009 release, and will be helmed by "Toy Story 2," "Monsters, Inc." and "Finding Nemo" co-director Lee Unkrich.
