Zack Snyder has already taken audiences onto the battlefields of ancient Greece. Now, according to Variety, he’s planning on taking them on “a journey…through war-torn Afghanistan.”

Snyder is reuniting with his 300 team — screenwriter Kurt Johnstad and Hollywood Gang Productions — for The Last Photograph, which Variety describes as “a drama based on an original idea by Snyder.” From the article:

Story revolves around a photograph that becomes the catalyst for a journey two men undertake through war-torn Afghanistan.

Before Snyder can get to Afghanistan, he’ll need to complete work on Watchmen, as well as Army of the Dead, the Illustrated Man-inspired film being scripted by Joby Herald. Variety also lists an “action fantasy” titled Sucker Punch as one of the director’s upcoming projects.
