The Writers Guild of America, East (WGAE) and the Writers Guild of America, West (WGAW) announced the film Nominees for the 2019 Writers Guild Awards. Roma, If Beale Street Could Talk, BlacKkKlansman, Green Book, Vice, and A Star is Born added to their impressive accolades, while indie darlings Eighth Grade and Can You Ever Forgive Me? may have favorably tipped the scales on their Oscar chances with a major guide nomination. Nicole Holofcener and Lauren Greenfield were sadly the only female writers honored this morning, but nominations for genre favorites A Quiet Place and Black Panther prove that the writer’s guilds are embracing arthouse cinema as well as blockbusters. The television nominees were announced earlier this month. Read through for the full list of nominees for feature films, documentaries, and video games below.
