Opening on August 7th, Paper Heart follows Charlyne Yi (Knocked Up) as she embarks on a quest to obtain some answers about the nature of love and ultimately discovers a kindred spirit in Michael Cera (Juno, Superbad). Consequently, we are teaming up with Charlyne herself and the film’s director, Nicholas Jasenovec, to hold a contest of the best-Tweeted love poems.

Entering the contest is easy as pie: follow RT on Twitter, and between today, July 6th, and next Monday, July 13th, Tweet us a love poem no longer than 140 characters. (Technically, entry tweets should be 140 characters total, so include the prefix “@rottentomatoes” so we get your tweets!) Then, between July 13th and 17th, Charlyne and Nicholas will choose their favorites, and one lucky poet will win a trip to the film’s premiere! Not so confident in your poetic abilities? That’s okay, because runners up will also receive great prizes!
Remember, to enter you must Tweet your poem to www.twitter.com/rottentomatoes, where you can follow RT for the latest movie news and review updates and for our reactions to your poems as they come in. Also, follow Charlyne Yi and Nick Jasenovic as they post messages to the official Paper Heart Twitter!

WINNER DETERMINATION: All eligible Entries received by Sponsor will be judged by a panel of qualified judges based equally on the following criteria: Creativity, Originality, and Syntax. The Entry with the highest score will be deemed the potential winner. In the event of a tie, an additional, “tie-breaking” judge will determine the winner(s) based on the criteria listed herein. Sponsor reserves the right not to award the prize if, in its sole discretion, it does not receive a sufficient number of eligible and qualified Entries. Prize award is subject to verification of eligibility and compliance with these Official Rules.
WINNER NOTIFICATION: Potential winner will be notified by telephone, mail or e-mail and will be required to complete an Affidavit of Eligibility, Liability and Publicity Release (unless prohibited by law) and any other documents required by Sponsor, which must be returned within five (5) business days of date appearing on prize notification. Return of prize or prize notification as undeliverable, failure to sign and return requested documentation within the specified time period, the inability of Sponsor to contact potential winner within a reasonable time period, or noncompliance with these Official Rules by the potential winner will result in disqualification and, at Sponsor’s sole discretion, the prize may be awarded to a runner-up. If potential winner is a least 18 but still considered a minor in his/her jurisdiction of residence, Sponsor reserves the right to award the prize in the name of his/her parent or legal guardian, who will be responsible for fulfilling all requirements imposed on winner set forth herein and must accompany such minor on trip as his/her guest.
PRIZE (1): A trip for winner and a guest to Los Angeles, CA from July 27, 2009 to July 29, 2009 to attend the Los Angeles Premiere of Paper Heart, scheduled to take place on July 28, 2009. Trip consists of roundtrip, coach class air transportation from a major U.S. gateway airport nearest winner’s residence to Los Angeles, CA, three (3) days and two (2) nights’ standard hotel accommodations (one (1) room, double occupancy) and two (2) tickets to the Los Angeles Premiere of Paper Heart. If winner resides within a 100-mile radius of destination, ground transportation will be provided in lieu of air transportation and no compensation or substitution will be provided in lieu thereof. Approximate Retail Value (“ARV”): $2,000. Actual value of prize may vary based on point of departure. Any difference between stated value and actual value will not be awarded. Trip must be taken on dates specified by Sponsor or prize will be forfeited and Sponsor will have no further obligation to such winner. Sponsor reserves right to change dates. Winner and guest must travel together on the same itinerary and are responsible for obtaining all required travel documents prior to travel. Guest must be of legal age of majority in his/her jurisdiction of residence (and at least 18) and must sign a liability/publicity release prior to issuance of travel documents. Travel must be made through Sponsor’s agent, on a carrier of Sponsor’s choice. Certain travel restrictions may apply. All federal, state and local taxes and all other costs associated with prize acceptance and use not specified herein as being provided, including luggage fees, ground transportation, meals, gratuities and souvenirs are the sole responsibility of the winner. Seat locations will be determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion. Tickets are subject to certain terms and conditions as specified thereon. Winner and guest must comply with all venue rules and regulations. Failure to do so may result in forfeiture of such portion of prize. In the event Sponsor is unable to provide tickets, no compensation or substitution will be provided in lieu thereof; however, remainder of prize package will be awarded and Sponsor will have no further obligation to winner. Winner may not substitute, assign or transfer prize or redeem prize for cash, but Sponsor reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to substitute prize (or portion thereof) with one of comparable or greater value. All prize details are at Sponsor’s sole discretion.
USE OF ENTRIES: By submitting an Entry, each entrant grants the Sponsor and its designees an exclusive, worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free, sub-licensable, transferable right to exploit the copyright and other intellectual property rights entrant has in the Entry, and any ancillary and subsidiary rights therein in any media now or hereafter known, with respect to the Entry, including without limitation the right to edit, publish, use, adapt, exploit, modify, copy, disseminate or dispose of any Entry, the concepts embodied therein or any elements thereof, online, in print, film, television, or in any other media for programming, advertising, publicity and promotional purposes without compensation or notification to the entrant of any kind, except as prohibited by law.
GENERAL CONDITIONS: By participating, each entrant agrees: (a) to abide by these Official Rules and decisions of Sponsor and judges, which shall be final and binding in all respects relating to this Contest; (b) to release, discharge and hold harmless Sponsor, Twitter, Rottentomatoes.com, and their respective parents, affiliates, subsidiaries, and advertising and promotion agencies, and the respective officers, directors, shareholders, employees, agents and representatives of the forgoing (collectively, “Released Parties”) from any and all injuries, liability, losses and damages of any kind to persons (including death) or property resulting, in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from entrant’s participation in the Contest or any Contest-related activity or the acceptance, possession, use or misuse of the prize (including any travel/activity related thereto); and (c) to the use of his/her name, voice, twitter username, performance, photograph/video, image and/or likeness for programming, advertising, publicity and promotional purposes in any and all media, now or hereafter known, worldwide and on the Internet, and in perpetuity by Sponsor and its designees, without compensation (unless prohibited by law) or additional consents from entrant or any third party and without prior notice, approval or inspection, and to execute specific consent to such use if asked to do so. By participating, entrant also agrees not to release any publicity or other materials on their own or through someone else regarding their participation in the Contest without the prior consent of the Sponsor, which it may withhold in its sole discretion.
MISCELLANEOUS: Released Parties are not responsible for lost, late, incomplete, damaged, inaccurate, stolen, delayed, misdirected, undelivered or garbled tweets and/or Entries; or for lost, interrupted or unavailable network, server, Internet Service Provider (ISP), website, or other connections, availability or accessibility or miscommunications or failed computer, satellite, telephone or cable transmissions, lines, or technical failure or jumbled, scrambled, delayed, or misdirected transmissions or computer hardware or software malfunctions, failures or difficulties, or other errors or difficulties of any kind whether human, mechanical, electronic, computer, network, typographical, printing or otherwise relating to or in connection with the Contest, including, without limitation, errors or difficulties that may occur in connection with the administration of the Contest, the processing or posting of tweets and/or Entries, the announcement of the prize, or in any Contest-related materials. Released Parties are also not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by site users, tampering, hacking, or by any equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Contest. Released Parties are not responsible for injury or damage to any person’s computer related to or resulting from participating in this Contest or downloading materials from or use of the website. Persons who tamper with or abuse any aspect of the Contest or website, who act in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner or who are in violation of these Official Rules, as solely determined by Sponsor, will be disqualified, and all associated tweets and/or Entries will be void. Should any portion of the Contest be, in Sponsor’s sole opinion, compromised by virus, worms, bugs, non-authorized human intervention or other causes which, in the sole opinion of the Sponsor, corrupt or impair the administration, security, fairness, proper play or submission of tweets and/or Entries, Sponsor reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to suspend, modify or terminate the Contest and, if terminated, at its discretion, select the potential winner from all eligible, non-suspect tweets and/or answers received prior to action taken using the judging procedure outlined above.
