Funnyman Will Arnett (best known as Gob Bluth on the recently demised Arrested Development) has been tapped by DreamWorks/Paramount to headline a new comedy called The Ambassador, which will no doubt be filled with pranks, pratfalls, and outright silliness.
Says The Hollywood Reporter: "With Arrested Development presumed dead, Will Arnett is getting ready to embark on an ambassadorship. DreamWorks and Paramount have picked up The Ambassador, a pitch by Arnett and Michael Schur, that will be a starring vehicle for Arnett. Peter Principato and Paul Young will produce, and Arnett will exec produce.
The story centers on a former U.S. vice president’s privileged son (Arnett), who is assigned an ambassadorship in Europe, where he quickly becomes the quintessential ugly American. Schur is now writing the script and will share a story by credit with Arnett. Mark Sourian and Jeremy Kramer oversee for DreamWorks."
