First-time director Wes Ball will direct "The Treehouse," a kid’s adventure flick that promises to be half live-action and half CG wizardry. The screenplay was penned by Steve Bencich and Ron Friedman, a pair of scribes entirely at home in the world of animation. (They also worked together on "Brother Bear," "Chicken Little," and "Curious George.") Variety says the project "follows the adventures of a boy who discovers a magical treehouse in his backyard. He’s propelled into a forest ruled by children, but woodland creatures invade it and he must fight his way home."
