Tyrese Gibson as "Luke Cage"?

Marvel’s got a "Luke Cage" movie sitting somewhere on the back burners, and filmmaker John Singleton is apparently involved in some capacity. And now we have the very first piece of casting gossip. I ask you comic fans: Would Tyrese Gibson make for a solid Cage?

From IGN FilmForce: " A film adaptation of the Luke Cage comic, which has gained considerable attention recently in the Marvel universe, is still on, and according to actor Tyrese Gibson, he is still the frontrunner to play the man once known as Power Man.

We caught up with Gibson on the set of "Transformers" this weekend, and this is what he had to say about his role in the project: "Right now they’re doing a rewrite on the film. John Singleton’s got me at the top of his list. I’m not full-on committed to the project but it’s something I’m extremely interested in. Met up with Neal Moritz a few times about it. Met up with Avi Arad a few times about it, and you know, we’ll see what happens."
