Two Exclusive Clips from The Golden Compass!

Oh my God, bear is fighting!

The Golden Compass
loves its bears: they’re ornately armored, lovingly
animated, and arguably the visual centerpieces in a fantasy flick already filled
with splendor and spectacle. If these killer Knuts are your kind of thing,
you’re in luck: Rotten Tomatoes has picked up

two exclusive Golden Compass clips
, including an action-packed bear
duel scene!

There’s a lot of back story to The Golden Compass:
based on the first His Dark Materials book by Philip Pullman, the plot takes
place in an alternate world where humans are accompanied by animal spirits
called daemon. In the first clip, a polar bear named Iorek (voiced by
) explains that a bear’s armor is tantamount to a human’s daemon.

In the second clip, Iorek engages in an electrifying
outdoor duel with another armored bear, a fine example of Golden Compass‘s
crisp CGI, human performance, and swooping camerawork.

You can check out both clips

, along with previous trailers and media.

The Golden Compass
— starring
Nicole Kidman,
Daniel Craig,

Dakota Blue Richards
— hits theaters December 7.
