Andy Serkis will star in the black horror comedy "The Cottage," the second movie from writer/director Paul Andrew Williams.

Increasingly busy Elizabeth Banks will star in and produce the comedy "What About Barb."

Screen Gems has acquired the Charles Murray script "Phenom," and has signed singer-actor Chris Brown to star.

Willem Dafoe, Hayden Panettiere, Shannon Lucio, Ioan Gruffudd and George Newbern are joining the ensemble cast of the drama "Fireflies in the Garden."

Dimension Films has acquired rights to "Tough Love" and set Ice Cube to star in the film based on the experiences of NFL player Tebucky Jones.

Jennifer Hudson has joined the ensemble cast of "Winged Creatures," and will play the daughter of Forest Whitaker’s character.

Jim Carrey is set to produce and star in the comedy "Me Time" for 20th Century Fox, in which he’ll play a house husband.

Matthew Rhys and Cillian Murphy have joined the cast of "The Best Time of Our Lives," starring opposite Lindsay Lohan and Keira Knightley.

Rod Lurie will direct the remake of Sam Peckinpah’s 1971 thriller "Straw Dogs," with the film’s setting moving from England to the U.S.

David O. Russell will adapt and direct the big screen version of "Sammy’s Hill," Kristin Gore’s (daughter of Al) Washington insider novel.

Paula Patton will star opposite Kiefer Sutherland in the supernatural thriller "Mirrors," the next feature from Alexendre Aja.

Director Dennis Dugan will reteam with Adam Sandler for Columbia Pictures’ "You Don’t Mess With the Zohan," a comedy written by Sandler, Judd Apatow, and Robert Smigel.
