In the months before the September release of Joss Whedon‘s "Serenity," Dark Horse Comics is helping fill in just what happened in the six months since the last events of the original TV show "Firefly" and the events of the big screen movie. A three-issue miniseries, written by creator Joss Whedon and "Firefly" writer Brett Matthews and featuring art by Will Conrad, along with covers by some of today’s hottest artists, hits the shelves on July 6th.

"’The film does a wonderful job of telling its story for the hardcore Firefly fan and uninitiated viewer alike. We’ve tried to do much the same thing with the comic. That said, there are elements of the film you get a peek at for the first time in the comic,’ Matthews explained."
