Out of nowhere and currently rather popular is screenwriter Johnny Rosenthal, says Variety. His most recent contract comes from Paramount Pictures, which will produce his screenplay "The Pilot." Set in 1983, the comedy is about a chauvanistic airline pilot who’s demoted to flight attendant as a punishment for his misogynistic ways.
"The Pilot" is only one of many projects Mr. Rosenthal has cooking: his dark comedy "Mini-Golf" is also underway at Paramount, and then there’s also "Night Girls" and "Arrested Development" cooking over at New Line.
And I’m not knocking the project, but doesn’t "The Pilot" sound a whole lot like "Anchorman"?
