Paramount & Peter Berg to Bring Clancy's Splinter to Celluloid

Variety reports on what promises to be one hotly-anticipated video-game adaptation: the studio is Paramount, the author is Tom Clancy, the director is Peter Berg, and the title is "Splinter Cell"! Seems that Mr. Berg’s successful directorial flourishes within "Friday Night Lights" managed to turn a few heads and now the actor-turned-director (who also gave us "Very Bad Things" and "The Rundown") has a high-tech action franchise of his very own! And as any fan of the "Splinter Cell" series can tell you, the flick’s bound to be swollen with high-tech gadgetry and espionage conspiracies. Let’s hope Paramount has better luck with "Splinter Cell" than they did with "Tomb Raider."
