MovieSite-Seeing: The Fog & Serenity

Given that we movie geeks love to share links to all the newest movie trailers, it only seems logical that we’d also want to spread the word when other promotional goodies are made available — which brings us to the topic of "official" movie sites.

Most of ’em are nothing more than a splash page, a plot synopsis, a few wallpapers, and a handful of minor bells and whistles. But when an official site manages to deliver something cool, then that’s something we like to talk about. Case in point: the newly refurbished websites for Universal’s "Serenity" and Columbia’s "The Fog."

Browncoat veterans and newbies alike should find something to enjoy at the official "Serenity" site, which offers all the standard doo-dads, plus a tour of the spaceship that’s full of surprises and a handy array of "backstory" material to keep the newcomers up to speed. "Serenity" opens theatrically on Septmeber 30th.

Fans of the ever-popular horror remakes can spend some mouse-clicking time at the official website for "The Fog," which stars Tom Welling, Maggie Grace, and a bunch of undead waterzombies who kill for revenge. The site features a tour of the ill-fated Antonio Bay, a preview of the graphic novel series, a Q & A with director Rupert Wainwright, and the standard downloadable goodies. "The Fog" wafts onto screens on October 14th.
