The Hollywood Reporter brings news of yet another remake that’s on the way. Producer Mark Gordon ("Saving Private Ryan") will oversee a new-fangled version of "Don’t Look Now" for Paramount Pictures. The 1973 original, which starred Donald Sutherland ("Animal House") and Julie Christie ("Demon Seed"), was directed by Nicolas Roeg ("Walkabout") and based on the short story by author Daphne Du Maurier.
Screenwriter Andrea Berloff penned the newest adaptation, which "centers on a couple, John and Laura Baxter, who go to Venice, Italy, to recuperate after the sudden death of their daughter only to encounter strange visions that suggest their daughter’s presence." No word of casting and/or director just yet, but rest assured we’ll be keeping a (skeptical) eye on this project from here on out.
