Galactus to Eat Planets in "Fantastic Four 2?"

20th Century Fox bigwig Tom Rothman has confirmed the appearance of Galactus in the upcoming comic sequel, "The Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer," which (hopefully) can only mean one thing: there’s gonna be some cosmic feasting going on!

According to the news slingers at WENN (via Cinescape), Rothman promises that we’ll not only see the million-years-old super being, but that it will be, well, fantastic: "I don’t want to give too much away but I will say this: Galactus will appear and fans will not be disappointed."

Neat trick, Johnny, but Galactus can teleport, rearrange molecules, and resurrect the dead…

Of course, the Fantastic Four’s main duel will be with the Silver Surfer, a character long revered in Marvel Universe lore and a "herald," or scavenger of sorts, of Galactus himself. Galactus possesses pretty much every power in the known universe, including the enviable ability to defy the laws of physics, and, poor guy, seeks to eat energy-rich planets out of sheer cosmic hunger.

"Fantastic Four: The Rise of the Silver Surfer" (as it is called now) hits theaters June 15, 2007.
