We’ve been hearing a lot of "maybe" names regarding the villain role in the third "Bourne" adventure, and now comes word that Edgar Ramirez has landed the role of Paz, a.k.a. The Guy Who Wants To Kill Jason Bourne.

From Empire Online: "Edgar Ramirez has been cast as Paz, the villain in The Bourne Ultimatum. Several names, including Gael Garcia Bernal and Freddy Rodriguez, had previously been mentioned in connection with the role of the assassin involved in the hunt for Jason Bourne. Ramirez is probably best known for his role as Keira Knightley‘s bounty hunter buddy Choco in "Domino."

Interesting choice.

Guess this means no Bernal in the "Bourne" cast, after all?

Ramirez joins fellow "Bourne" newb Paddy Considine and David Strathairn, plus returning players Matt Damon, Joan Allen and Julia Stiles. Currently filming, the pic is due in theaters August 3, 2007. Paul Greengrass ("The Bourne Supremacy") will again direct.
