Craig Zadan and Neil Meron, the producers of the Oscar-winning musical "Chicago," are set to produce the Tony-winning "Hairspray" for New Line, according to Variety. "Hairspray" is a musical about a plump 16-year-old who dreams of being in a popular dance program on TV. When she learns the program is holding auditions in her town, she jumps at the chance. Filming is set to start mid-2005 for a 2006 release.
