Of course, the DC Heroes Showdown had to come down to a face-off between Batman and Superman, the two most enduring icons in perhaps all of comic book fandom. In the end, though, Henry Cavill’s Man of Steel was no match for Christian Bale’s Dark Knight, as the latter took the crown by a margin of 76% to 24% of the vote. It probably didn’t hurt that Christopher Nolan’s trilogy — The Dark Knight in particular — is considered some of the finest superhero moviemaking ever, but Bale certainly put his own unique, memorable spin on the character, and it helped secure him the big win.

As always, thanks to everyone who followed along and voted from round to round; these showdowns wouldn’t work without your participation, so we’re glad so many of you joined in on the fun.
