With J.J. Abrams’ Star Trek reboot set to hit theaters on May 8, I’ve decided to explore a strange new cinematic world: that of the Star Trek franchise. As with our previous features on the James Bond and Friday the 13th series, we’ll analyze every entry, right up to the release of Star Trek. And I’m inviting RT users to join me in this enterprise; here’s your chance to watch along with me. It’ll be like a book club for sci-fi geeks!
As an admitted neophyte, I will attempt to immerse myself in Trek lore to the best of my abilities. I’ve barely seen any of the TV series, and I’ve only watched a couple of the movies, so I’m sure I won’t be able to catch each obscure reference or chuckle knowingly at every Spock-ism. However, I’ve got an open mind, and I’m hoping it will meld with the 11 Star Trek movies. Please join me in watching all the flicks, and let us know what you think of them!
